VP Physical Natural Gas Trading

OVERVIEW

A specialized energy trading company with primary businesses involves crude oil and products is looking to expand its physical natural gas marketing and trading business. They trade physical natural gas, are involved in storage, transportation, park and loans, and to lesser extent hedge inventories with financials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The candidate would be the lead and be responsible for growing a book a business including trading and risk management of natural gas portfolio mostly physical but could include financial products, options and basis related instruments e as trader proves him as an indispensible member of the team. The candidate must have skills that lend a hand in a start up type situation.

 

• Client is looking for Traders with Gas storage and transportation, asset optimization, and fundamental understanding of the physical grid, gas systems, and in general knows the physical gas business from wellhead to burner tip.
• The candidate must also have intangible qualities that would aid in business development or negotiations.
• The position is geared for someone with a multifaceted experience and roughly 10 years in the industry.
• Preference is to have experience in the West but Mid Con, and Gulf is also welcome.

QUALIFICATION:

Important: This is for an entrepreneurial trader who does not need babysitting. The hiring authority does not want to be in the business of motivating people and micro managing. He wants driven self sufficient trader who wants to work in an environment where you “eat what you kill”. The candidate might be tired of the typical big shop environment and wants to luxury of leaving when the market closes on certain days or leeway you don’t find in Corp. The upside is bonus compensation is performance based.
