Senior Project Engineer - Solar

LOCATION:   California

OVERVIEW

Our client is a well-regarded distributed power company which develops and owns solar power plants in high-demand areas. The electricity generated by the plant is then sold to commercial, government, and utility customers via Power Purchase Agreements or feed-in tariffs.

 

They are currently searching for an Electrical Engineer with utility distribution or transmission networks experience. This includes designing substations, or power plant interconnections at medium or high voltage. This position will report to the Vice President, Project Services and will require 5-10% travel.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create, supervise, and coordinate design of multi-megawatt PV installations
• Site assessment, including document & file review and site walks
• Create design documents for project development, permitting, and construction
• Collaborate with performance engineers, estimators, and project managers to ensure success of projects
• Interface with subcontracted engineers and consultants
• Document procedures for review and inspection of completed installations

QUALIFICATION:

• Experience designing utility distribution or transmission networks, substations, or power plant interconnections at medium or high voltage.
• Thorough knowledge of medium & high voltage circuit protection schemes and transformers
• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
• Experience designing commercial scale (100 kW+) PV systems
• Experience with utility interconnection design and procedures
